Trash, Trinkets, or Treasures Virtual Seminar Set
I was getting dressed, minding my own business. In the background of our hotel room, Kerry Shook was preaching his heart out. We were there in MS for my husband to install another amazing Playmasters Playground at his Alma Mater. I was not going to miss that for anything–first, the blessing of seeing our family and then, of course, the treat of getting to see my husband bring his amazing playgrounds to students following in his steps. I was already enjoying the day, but that was not going to be the highlight of this particular day.
I don’t remember the topic that Kerry was preaching about. (Isn’t that usually how it is when we hear the most life-changing words?) The whole sermon was some really GOOD STUFF! But, there was one phrase that just jumped out of the TV and arrested me. It has come back to me over and over and over since then. It has rocked my world in a way that has affected everything that I do–my relationship with God, my marriage, parenting, homemaking, home business, ministry, and even taking care of myself. Wonder what on earth he was talking about that could shake me that much? Well, here it is…
Kerry asked, “Trash, trinkets, or treasures…how are you spending your time?”
Trash…
Trinkets…
Or, treasures????
Oh! My sweet friend, that rocked me!
My mind immediately began to race through everything on my schedule, on my calendar, on my to-do list…and even throughout the rest of the day, week, month, and year. Do the things that I do MATTER? Are they eternal? Are they going to last? Or, are they just trash, just trinkets? OUCH!
I do have to say that day I was GOOD–everything on my agenda MATTERED. I was definitely sticking to the main thing. No regrets.
But, don’t get a disillusionment about me–that question began to taunt me at strange times.
Like when I would “flesh out.” UGH! The last thing I needed (Ok, WANTED) at those times was the gentle nudging of, “Cindy, trash, trinkets, or treasures…what is your choice? Is this what you REALLY want? Does this really matter?”
Or, when faced with a brand new opportunity–a GOOD THING–I would hear that sweet small voice, “Is this another trinket to add to the big collection you have amassed through the years?” UGH!!
It was just a very quick question. It was NOT the point of the message. It was not even the topic that he was sharing, but that one question has slaughtered me to the core.
I want to be a woman who builds my home. I want to a woman of legacy–a godly legacy. I want for the things that I do to really matter. I don’t want to live my life and look back over a lot of “trash” and not even a lot of “trinkets” when it is all over. I really do want to live day-in and day-out sticking to what really matters so I can make each moment, day, week, and year really count. I want to press past the hindrances, distractions, chaos, and crisis situations to stick to the main thing–the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ. I want to live a life with NO regrets. It really is my heart cry.
But, then choices come and go. Each one counts. With each choice, the decision must be made…
Trash…
Trinkets…
Or, treasures????

This session is going to be one jam-packed session that will definitely inspire, encourage, and equip you as you live this out in your every day life.
Session 3 – What IS Your Main Thing?
This session is going to be a keeper! In this session, we go back to Luke 10: 38-42 and learn some secrets from Mary and Martha. Oh! This is not another “bash Martha and deify Mary” message. We are going to look at the struggles going on there in that passage because we all face them as godly women–balancing all that godly women have to balance (and not LOSING IT!), keeping our attitudes in check, getting (and keeping) rightful priorities, getting rid of distractions and hindrances that tend to steal our focus and blur our vision, and so much more. This session is going to help us identify the trash, treasures, and trinket so we can stick to the main thing–the treasures! Don’t miss this one!
Session 4 – What Would You Regret and How Do You Make it Happen TODAY?
We all want to live a life without regrets. Of course, the big question is “HOW?” In this session, we look ahead to what you REALLY want for your life. We are going to look at what you would regret if everything were over today. As we do, we will be digging deep into how to live deliberately, intentionally, focused, without regrets, allowing nothing to hold you back from living out your life purpose today. A life-changing session that is sure to fire, inspire and equip you to take action in your own life. A keeper!
